Dimensions - Demo 2
Generalized Dimensions
The information dimension D1 is calculated in this applet. Again accumulate a large number of points. The dimension algorithm calculates the measure pi associated with each non-empty box i and then sums -pilog pi over i.
Other dimensions Dq can be calculated by changing the value of q and then rehitting "Dimension" (you do not need to rerun the map iteration).
Things to try
- How does the dimension Dq vary with q?
- How does the quality of the fit for a given number of points change with q?
